Johnny and his journey through the respiratory system
In the year 3000 Johnny’s class went on a field trip to go through the respiratory system of a smoker. At the age of 14 he started smoking and he has been hooked for 4 years now .Excited he was but did not realize what the dangers of smoking could to do your body. His class got into the tiny ship and entered though the mouth of a man at the age of 38 Jim a stressed stock broker in Wall Street who thinks that he needs a whole packet of cigarettes a day to calm him down and take the stress away.
The first stop they stopped at was the larynx (voice box) you could see the expression on Johnny’s face when he realized what is going to happen to him going to happen to him in 20 years. The larynx was pale and very wheezy this makes Jim not able to speak properly and in later years can suffer from the cancer of the larynx which causes death not being able to speak. Then they went down the trachea (wind pipe) your air travels through your trachea to get to your lungs when Jim started to smoke the carbon monoxide cells entered and eliminated most oxygen cells which is essential to live on.
Johnny stared to realize that all of these effects are happening to his respiratory system and he started to get worried. All of this was nothing until they stopped at the lungs Johnny was shocked and couldn’t believe what was happening to Jim’s lungs you could see the cancer is starting to grow all around his lungs he is finding it hard to breath almost breathless. The increasing amount off cigarettes and causing poisonous substances in the clearance section of the lungs the worst thing to Johnny was that he did not realize that all of these effects were happening to him until he had to see it for himself. Now Johnny is off the smokes and has been for 20 years and sadly Jim died from lung cancer 5 years after Johnny’s visit.
